In the spirit of summer and the hot weather I have decided to come up with a new smoothie recipe.
I also was inspired to create this by an email I received from SunWarrior. SunWarrior just happens to be my favourite raw protein to use in my smoothies. So if you are wondering how to get protein on a raw diet this is one of the products that you can use. Here is a post on why I love it so much.
So here is my smoothie contribution. It is light, tropical and great for a hot summer day. I hope you enjoy! I am sure this would be great on a beach.
Tropical Infusion
500ml Water
1 Star Fruit
10 Organic Strawberries
1 Ripe Mango
2 Tbs Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
1 Tbs of Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
1 Scoop SunWarrior Vanilla Rice
Add water to Vitamix. Peel mango and prepare star fruit by cutting off ends and trimming edges. Take tops of strawberries. Add fruit, SunWarrior protein, lime juice and coconut oil. Blend until smooth. The smoothie will be nice and thick. Add 3 ice cubes to a fancy glass and fill. Garnish with starfruit slice .
Close your eyes and imagine that you are on vacation on a a beach relaxing and enjoy a healthy drink. (That's what I do)
Starting August 8th-18th please go over to Sunwarrior and Vote for my smoothie entry. A winner will be chosen based on how many viewer Likes it has. You must like the Sun Warrior Page First and then scroll through to find my smoothie in the photos.
beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSounds Yummy! It will be a smoothie weekend I can see it now, three days of sun and high humidity. Tropical weather and tropical drinks!
ReplyDeletelooks great!!! SIpping this on a beach in Hawaii....well all in my mind....LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. I love this one because you can get your extra bit of protein in and it just tastes so tropical.
ReplyDeleteHi Sasha! I, too, use the SunWarrior Vanilla Vegan Protein Powder. LOVE it! Thanks for the great recipe...now off to daydream as I sip away the hot day and enter paradise! :-)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Just LOVING this recipe! My mouth started watering the minute I saw the glass. Mango is so awesome. Not familiar with Star Fruit so look forward to checking it out. What i reeeeeally also appreciate is the recommendation of for this protein powder. I always wonder how vegans manage to get enough protein in. Particularly women. So gonna try this one on your recommendation. Is there a link you could attach go to the voting page?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sasha!
Mmmm sounds divine Sasha. You have my mouth watering and I'm ready to give it a go. I spend much of my time just making green smoothies so it is fabulous to see a post that reminds me there is a great big world of smoothie making out there. You have reminded me to experiment.
ReplyDeleteSasha, this sounds so refreshing! I do have a question: is this one serving? It seems like a whole 'lotta fruit for one smoothie so I'm just checkin'! There are a few missing links I think? I would be glad to like your entry ... just let me know where to go. Would also love to know where you get your rice protein. Thanks for sharing this and I can't wait to try it!

Sorry they changed the contest date and voting will start on AUG 8th.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of foods that vegans can get their protein from. I love the idea of a smoothie because it is quick. SunWarrior is a higher price point than most, however I feel it is worth it. It is a super clean product and is assimilated really well by the body. If you are not sure of the flavour you can get sample packs in vanilla, chocolate and plain.
ps. they switched the voting to August the 8th.
Thanks Claire,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. I often make green juices and smoothies. So in the summer this is a nice fun change. I guess I am craving a vacation.:)
Hi Laurie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment. I can buy this SunWarrior at my local health food store. I can also get it online from a few stores as well as directly from SunWarrior site itself. In a week or so I will have some links of stores where you can purchase the products that I am talking about.
The portion size is large for about 3-4 glasses. You could half the fruit if you don't think you would drink it all:)
Hi Laurie,
ReplyDeleteYes I will look into comment love.
Great article, hey I stumbled on to this post while searching the web for random downloads. Thanks for sharing I will email my friends about this too.
